Coyote II
Vladimir Zambrano
“Coyote II” belongs to the Yaquis del Poder series, a body of work that explores the relationship between nahuales and the worldview of the Yaqui people of Sonora. The piece draws inspiration from the Coyote Dance, a ritual performed both before warriors departed for battle and upon their return. Within this tradition, the coyote embodies cunning, resilience, and transformation, serving as a symbolic bridge between the forces of nature, the community, and the spiritual realm.
Technique: Black and colored India ink, alcohol markers on cotton paper.
